Giving Back to the Community

We here at BEI believe in giving back to the community. Our founder, Arnold Benedict, always believed “the more you give, the more you get.” So, one of our goals is to reach out and help others in the Miami Valley. In past years we have worked with Habitat for Humanity. We have gathered as a company to work at local sites in Dayton. We worked on the framing and construction of homes for families in need. A few years ago in the spring, we held an on-site fishing tournament for customers and vendors, with all proceeds going to Habitat for Humanity.

BEI-Benedict Gives Back to the CommunityEach year, during the Christmas season, we gather donations and make a matching monetary gift from BEI. We use this money to provide gifts to local families facing tough times. We shop for the presents, wrap them, and deliver the gifts to put under the tree. We also provide Kroger gift cards and a large gift box of non-perishable food items to prepare a Christmas dinner.

This year we have started helping out with a new project in Kettering, known as Brigid's Path. Brigid's Path will be a transitional home for drug-addicted babies. It is a facility where the babies and their mothers, through the support of various teams, can get the medical, emotional and social support they need to help them bond and move to a better place in life. We have worked on the demolition of the existing site and donated two ground level storage containers for their use in housing tools during construction and in-kind donations made by the community. We are hoping to continue our work with Brigid's Path in numerous ways, through their opening stages and into the future of helping these babies and families. Brigid's Path is a wonderful community project and definitely one to which we hope others will contribute their time and resources.

On a smaller scale, we have served dinner at the Hope House in Middletown. We feel that helping to provide a meal or giving someone that extra welcome and smile can often make their day. Giving back to the community is simply the right thing to do and we hope to be able to give back, not only to our community as a whole, but especially to those most in need.
